Geely EV Repair Guide: SEA Platform, Models & Service Data

Geely Is Not One Brand — and That Matters in the Bay

Geely EV repair is a broader question than it first appears. Geely Holding is a group, not a single marque: the cars arriving in overseas workshops wear Zeekr, Polestar, Geometry, Galaxy, Lynk & Co or plain Geely badges, and they sit on at least three different architectures. Knowing which platform is under the car tells you more about how to service it than the badge does.

This page maps the group, the architectures, and where the service data actually sits.

Architectures You Will Meet

CMA (Compact Modular Architecture)

  • Developed jointly with Volvo; supports combustion, hybrid and electric drivetrains in the same body structure
  • High-rigidity body with a familiar strut-front, multi-link-rear layout — conventional workshop geometry
  • Underside and suspension work generally follows well-established European patterns

SEA (Sustainable Experience Architecture)

  • Purpose-built EV platform, floor-mounted pack, wheelbase scalable from roughly 1800 mm to 3300 mm
  • 400 V and 800 V variants; 800 V versions charge fast but demand strict HV safety discipline
  • Used across the group’s electric range, so components and service logic repeat between models

Lynk E-Motive Hybrid

  • Dedicated hybrid system with a 1.5 T engine and multi-speed DHT transmission
  • Applies to the hybrid Lynk & Co and Galaxy models — engine service returns to the schedule

Model Families Under the Group

Brand Positioning Models you will see Platform
Zeekr Premium electric 001, X, 009 SEA
Geometry Mainstream electric Geometry C, Geometry E SEA-derived
Galaxy Upper-mainstream Galaxy E8, L7, L9 SEA / Lynk E-Motive
Lynk & Co Premium hybrid and EV 01, 02, 08 CMA / SEA
Polestar Performance electric 2, 4 CMA / SEA

Group engineering means parts commonality is real but not guaranteed. A suspension arm that looks identical between two models may carry different bushings or a different part number. Always verify against the specific model, not the platform. The same caution applies to diagnostics: Zeekr repair access, for example, is largely dealer-only in most markets, so a routine that works on one group brand will not necessarily touch another.

Where Workshops Get Stuck on Geely

  1. Documentation is fragmented. Unlike a single-marque manufacturer, data for these cars is spread across several brand portals, and English coverage varies sharply by brand and market. Some Geely service manual material is published; much of the Zeekr and Lynk & Co material is not.
  2. Diagnostic tooling differs by brand. The group does not present one unified aftermarket diagnostic path. Access that works on one brand family may not touch another.
  3. Parts channels are market-dependent. Availability in the Middle East, Russia, South-East Asia and Latin America is very different from Europe.

Geely Service Data: What to Expect

We maintain a dated, verified list of what is genuinely obtainable per brand, including which sources are free, which need registration, and which are dealer-only:

For the Geometry C specifically, owner-level documentation is obtainable and workshop-level data is not — the Geely Geometry C service manual page sets out exactly what that means in practice, including the fault codes you can still act on without dealer access.

Inspection Points on High-Mileage Geely EVs

  • Feed the 12V system before you chase codes. As with all of these platforms, a tired auxiliary battery manufactures faults that look like high-voltage failures.
  • Coolant type and bleeding procedure. Battery thermal circuits are sealed and specific; incorrect coolant or an incomplete bleed produces charging-rate complaints rather than an obvious leak.
  • ADAS and sensor calibration. Windscreen, camera or suspension work on ADAS-equipped cars requires calibration, and the requirement differs between CMA and SEA cars.
  • Drive motor oil cooling. Oil-cooled motors have a service life on the oil and filter that is easy to overlook on a low-noise drivetrain.
  • Brake underuse. Strong regeneration means friction brakes can seize through lack of use. Inspect for this specifically on low-mileage urban cars.
  • Bushing and mount degradation. Heavier kerb weight than an equivalent combustion car accelerates wear in suspension bushes and mounts.

How We Work With Geely Group Cars

Chinese-market EV platforms are what we work on daily, including the diagnostic tooling and the language barrier around the documentation. If a Geely group car is in your bay and access is the blocker, that is something we can help with directly.

Stuck on a Fault Code or a Locked Module?

Our technicians work with Chinese OEM diagnostic tools every day. Send us the VIN and the fault codes — we’ll tell you exactly what to check, in what order, and what it costs.
